Members on Their Own (MOTO)
Exciting news for those who enjoy making new friends and sharing experiences! We have recently been contacted by someone eager to launch a “Members On Their Own” (MOTO) group right here in Hartley Wintney u3a. Following in the footsteps of the thriving groups in Fleet and Camberley, this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who would relish occasional Sunday lunches, scenic walks, memorable outings, friendly coffee mornings, and perhaps a lively monthly get-together. If the idea of connecting with like-minded people and having fun together appeals to you, We'd love to hear from you. Let’s make this group a reality – just drop Mark Berrisford-Smith a line.

How to join a Group
If you’re a fully paid-up HW u3a member, or a member of another u3a, you’re warmly invited to join any of our groups. We do ask that your membership is up to date, as this is important for insurance reasons. If you’re not a member yet, you’re very welcome to come along and try one group meeting to see if it’s for you. Please note, some groups may have limits due to room size, sports facilities, or the nature of the activity. New members can easily join online or simply get in touch with our Membership Secretary – we’d love to have you onboard!
In most cases if you are interested in joining an already established group, contact the Group Leader for more information and arrange to come to a sample meeting. The contact details for all the Group Leaders are on each individual Group's Website page or email Group Support for more help.
Venues for Hartley Wintney u3a Groups
Meetings are held in various locations including the Victoria Hall complex, the Methodist Hall, the Cricket Club, and, where appropriate, at members' homes. A full list of venues can be found here.
Group Leaders
Each Group is headed by a Group Leader whose role it is to co-ordinate the activities of the Group. You can send an email to the Group Leader from the Group's page.
How much does it cost to join a Group?
There may be a small charge to cover the cost of venue hire, consumables, etc.
New u3a Groups
We are always keen to help develop new groups or, where groups are at capacity, to create additional groups run by members for members.
Do you have an idea for a new group or wish there was a group for an activity/area of interest that inspires you? It doesn't matter if you are new to HW u3a or a long-standing member.
If you would like to put yourself forward as Group Leader, suggest a new group or just find out if there are others that share the same passions as you, then please contact Group Support.
Waiting Lists
If a group is full, you can tell the Group Leader that you’d like to join when a place is available. All the leaders of full groups keep a waiting list. If the waiting list is long and you are keen, why not volunteer to lead a second group, perhaps on a different day?
Please note that only current Hartley Wintney u3a members can join a waiting list.
