What we do
The Wine Appreciation groups have tastings usually consisting of 8 wines; 3-4 Whites and 4-5 Reds; with occasional forays into Sparkling, Rose or Fortified wines. In July there are garden parties with the opportunity for 'significant others' to see us doing what we do best!
Tastings will be based on particular regions or specific grape varieties or recent offers by independent wine merchants or supermarkets. There is also the possibility of 'Blind Tastings'.
During lockdown the Groups organised a number of virtual wine tastings including Zoom sessions with winemakers around the world, including South Africa, Bulgaria, Germany, Portugal and Chile. Some members also linked in with similar international Zooms via the Arts Society.
Wine Appreciation Group 2 meets on the 2nd Monday.
