What we do

We are a friendly group and we play an informal game.  No special clothes or equipment are required - all you need are flat shoes for the green. Bowls are provided at the club which is at the Victory Hall, Farley Hill RG7 1TR, only a 15 minute drive from Hartley Wintney. We welcome beginners and new members.

The aim of the game is to get your bowl as close to the target, the ‘jack’, as you can. Sounds easy but various factors influence where your bowl goes, therein lies the interest and the skill. Bowls come in various weights, a little bit of practice and you’ll easily find what is right for you. You’ll soon pick up the essential rules of the game and will also quickly learn how to hone your technique. It’s a pleasant way to spend a summer afternoon, getting you out of doors for some gentle exercise. Age and gender don’t matter when playing bowls and we don’t take it too seriously. We play for fun - definitely not competition standard. The first session is free, so why not come along and give it a go?
