What we do
Our Croquet Club offers sport, friendship, fun and a whole lot more. It is one of the few sports played on equal terms by men and women.
There are two main forms of Croquet: Golf and Association. We play Golf at the u3a Croquet Club which is quicker and more sociable as each player has only one shot per turn after which it is the next player's turn.
We play fortnightly on Tuesday mornings 10 am - 12 noon at the Elvetham Hotel from mid-April to mid-September at a charge of £3 per person per session.
We enjoy drinks after our games in the Hotel as a thank you for letting us play on the excellent lawns free of charge.
The money collected at the end of September is paid into the u3a bank and occasionally we buy additional equipment, when necessary, from the said funds.
